"You are only who you want to be''
I don't always know what to do. As a mother you face all kinds of different challenges. I have a few right now, learning how to allow them to potty train themselves. I don't want to pressure them, I'll ask if they need to pee, & if they say no I say okay. & that's hard for me I'm usually really controlling. I'm realizing now, that it's not only with the twins that I'm controlling.. My life. I try to control it so that I don't screw it up, be organized you know? But all of that control is ruining the fun. The fun of having a social life, raising my kids, having a boyfriend. It's all ruined if I try to control it all. It's hard to let go. But I'm realizing that it's probably the best thing to do. So I start by letting people do things for me the way they want to do it. Listening more. For example, I love to plan events. & the boys second birthday is coming up, usually I would take care of everything.. this time.. I'm letting their dad take on some of the burden. It's hard for me to let go. But it'll do me a world of good..
Lesson to learn: You don't always have to do everything the way YOU want it to be done, other ways are just fine. Learn to accept them. If they're not hurting anyone. What's the problem? Relax.
Yes my girl, it is hard to let go, but now that you are getting more comfortable with accepting other's help!! Over the next little bit you will feel a great deal of the stress lift!! And it will feel FANTASTIC!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love you and great job!! It's AMAZING how much you've grown as a woman over the last 3 months!!
When it comes to potty training babes, DON'T take their word for it, when they say no. If they are engaged in something way better then going pee, or even slightly distracted THEY WILL ALWAYS SAY NO, and then pee on the floor 30 seconds later!!! They don't fully associate the word pee with the sensation of peeing just yet. They have just started!
For the first bit, you have to remind them to think about it, and you making them sit on the potty "just in case" they do have to go, will teach them to understand that "I gotta pee sensation" It's ok if they sit for 5-10 minutes b4 they actually go!! Give them a book to read!! They first need to understand the sensation and then they need to put the word pee with that sensation!!
They are very smart boys and they are going to pick it up fast!! The key is be consistant, and try to get them to the potty just before the time you would normally be changing thier diapers!! The perfect time is the minute u hear them in the morning, don't wait. Get them up and on the potty ASAP, before they get the chance to fully wake up and pee!! It's the perfect habit pee to get them started, lol!!!
